Managing Profile Sections
The Profile Administration menu allows you to build and manage Profile Sections. The Profile Table is divided into Profile Sections, each containing Profile Headers.
Use the Profile Administration menu to add new Profile Headers to existing Profile Sections or set up a new Profile Section.
Administrators can use the Import/Export functions within the Profile Administration menu to copy Person Profiles from one instance of Unify to another, reducing the work required to build an equivalent Person Profile in a second instance of Unify.
Adding a Profile Section
-
Open Profile Administration within the Administration menu:
-
Click Add Section to open the Add Profile Section window:
-
Enter a name for the section and select a zone:
The Zone dropdown defines the column on the Profile Table where the Profile Section will be placed, i.e. selecting Zone 2 will place the section at the bottom of column 2. -
Click Add to save the Profile Section to the selected Zone:
Populating a Profile Section (Add Question)
-
Click the Add Question (+) icon to open the Edit Header window:
-
In the Editor column, enter text for the Question that identifies the data contained under the header, e.g. enter Hair Color for a field that contains information relating to the person’s hair color or Membership Start for a record containing the date the person registered for membership of a club.
The tickboxes within the Editor column set the availability of the question to analysis:
-
Visible to Campaign – a checked box makes the data available for selections in the Campaign Manager
-
Visible to Query – a checked box makes the data available for selections in the Query Manager
-
Updatable by Query – a checked box allows the data to be set/amended by query
-
-
In the Data column, select the type of data that can be entered as an answer to the question, e.g. hair colour would be defined as a string, membership start would be entered as a date, etc.
The data can also be flagged as PII, activating privacy settings to protect the data when the tickbox is checked
-
Within the Appearance column, the Segmentation dropdown defaults to the Profile Section in which the Profile Header was created but can be changed to move the header to another section.
If a Custom Icon is available, this can be selected using the Custom Icon field.
The Answer Type can be set as a Database Lookup or as a Text option:
-
If checked, the Multiple Answers tickbox allows more than one answer to be selected
-
If set to ‘Read-Only’ Display, the value cannot be changed through the UI
-
-
After selecting the options that apply, click Add to create the Profile Header:
-
To edit the answers (i.e. create a database lookup), click on the blue Silo icon to the right of the Profile Header description.
-
On the Edit Profile Answers window, add the possible answers for the drop down:
-
Answers can be entered one at a time, clicking Add after entering each one into the text box, or in bulk, by clicking Bulk Add.
-
Close the window after adding all permissible answers.
